The world was not ready for a redefining Indian hip-hop song ‘Big Dawgs’ which was released in 2024, everyone went to their browser and began to search about a young artist ‘Hanumankind’. Hanumankind is not just a rapper but a strong figure in hip-hop with sharp lyrics, and bold delivery. Let us dive into his early days, Hanumankind was born as Suraj Cherukat a Bengaluru based artist who spent his significant part of his life in the United States. From there he majorly got influenced by the Western hip-hop music style and he returned to India to pursue the career in the rap field. 

Hanumankind – Early Career

Hanumankind burst into the world of hip-hop with a sound that was fresh, aggressive and unapologetically pan-global. Unlike many rappers in the country who blend both Hindi and English, he set himself apart by exclusively rapping in English. This aided his song to resonate with both national and international listeners. A track that put him in the spotlight was ‘No Hook’ which was released in 2020. Fans celebrated his technical skill and critics praised for replacing the conventional verse-chorus structure. In 2020 he collaborated with the acclaimed producer Kalmi and released his Kalari. This album is an inspiration from the ancient Indian Martial arts. Further, he holds a standout in the indie rap movement through the continuous evolution in his approach towards every song that infuses the modern textures with the regional themes.
