An anticipatory bail has been granted by the Supreme Court on November 19, 2024 for the Malayalam actor Siddique who was accused as an “Extremely Influential Person” by the victim and the Kerala Police. A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma ensures their verdict with the revelation of few clarifications.
“However, considering the fact that the complainant had filed the complaint almost eight years after the alleged incident which had taken place in 2016 and had also posted on Facebook somewhere in 2018 making allegations about 14 people including the appellant with regard to the alleged sexual abuse and also the fact that she had not gone to the Hema Committee, which was set up by the Government of Kerala, we are inclined to accept the present appeal”.

The Justices of SC issued the anticipatory bail with certain conditions which states the accused Malayalam actor Siddque must deposit his passport and cooperate with the officers during further investigation.

They also questioned the complainant for the delayed allegations over the actor which was after eight years after the sexual accusations took place in 2016 against 13 others in the Malayalam Film Industry on Facebook. They also stated that this allegation against the actor is a “fall out” from the Hema Committee.
