Suresh Kumar earlier along with other Malayalam cinema councils decided to regularize the Production, Budget and Box Office cuts to further the production and pay cuts of prominent stars. The producer and actor detailed a report on how the budget of Big Star movies is getting out of hand and other regularities put forth by the Producers’ Council. If their demands are not met before June, the production of movies and their further releases will be put on hold from 1 June 2025.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor shared a lengthy post in X questioning and pricking the points made by Mr. Suresh Kumar regarding the strike. Now the producer of Empuraan movie, Mr. Perumbavoor has had a plethora of questions on Suresh Kumar’s accusation of pointing out the movie’s budget being high while Antony Perumbavoor addresses this saying, “Budget discussions are typically an internal matter, and while speculation is natural, public discussions about an ongoing project’s financials might not always paint an accurate picture. At Aashirvad Cinemas, we have always maintained transparency in our work, but we prefer to let our films speak for themselves rather than engage in public debates about budgets and collections.”

He also addressed how Mr. Suresh Kumar pointed out about the industry chasing around 100 Crore clubs and stated, “It is important to recognize that such benchmarks are not about individual profit margins but rather about the overall market performance of a film,” he said about the recent hits and added that “I believe we should acknowledge and take pride in the fact that Malayalam cinema is making significant strides at the national and international levels.”
