List of movies that forged Nivin Pauly to become a ‘Southern Stardom’

Nivin Pauly started his career at Infosys in Bangalore after completing his Bachelor of Technology in 2006. He realised that facing the camera is the right choice rather than sitting in front of the computer. He then attended auditions for many movies and his journey took a curve when he got selected for one of the lead roles in the movie “Malarvadi Arts Club” which was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. This movie was released in 2010. He began his career with a good performance and a commercial box office collection of ₹2 crore.

From the first movie Nivin Pauly has a close association with Director, actor, singer, and producer Vineeth Sreenivasan. He did one of the leading roles in the hyperlink action thriller movie and sports action movie ‘The metro’ and ‘Sevenes’ respectively. He received the tag of “boy next door” through the sensational album song “Nenjodu Cherthu” starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim from the album Yuvvh. 

Rise of Nivin in Mollywood & Kollywood:

In 2012, being the lead actor in “Thattathin Marayathu” a romantic comedy movie which was directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. This movie became one of the highest grossing films in Mollywood with the collection of ₹18.9 crore. Both financially, and critically he commenced to receive acknowledgement from the fans. He is also one of the actors who has given industrial hits being a non-nepo kid. This movie was remade in Tamil and Telugu. He was introduced to the closely associated region and industry of Tamil Nadu in the movie “Neram”. 

In 2013, this movie was released in both Tamil and Malayalam starring Nivin Pauly, Nazriya, Bobby Simha, Nasser in the lead roles. Nivin got an unexpected love and recognition from the Tamil fans and it insisted the Tamil audiences to watch his previous movies. He then became a familiar star in both the languages. The movies in which he acted in the following years portrayed him as a natural and romantic hero. 

He got a breakthrough with the movie “Premam” which was released in 2015. He associated again with the director Alphonse Puthren with whom he gave a stellar performance in the movie “Neram”. It was one of the charming and charismatic characters played by Nivin. The Love which he received from the Tamil audiences was relentless and it resulted in 300 days of theatrical run in Tamil Nadu. He has also encountered body shaming on many social media platforms. Amidst all these obstacles he continues to glow his path of passion.

Approbation for ‘Moothon’: 

There are only a few actors who are great performers and bold in choosing scripts, which are out of the concept to be a mass hero in the cinema industry. Nivin Pauly is one such actor who has chosen the strong story with an intense screenplay “Moothon”. It is a Malayalam action and thriller movie, in which he played a role named Akbar, who is a homosexual and falls in love with his childhood friend Ameer. To an actor who has a huge fan base with an industrial hit and box office collection, it might make him say no to such scripts. But he was obvious with his passion and experimenting a strong character with a sound narration.
