Tamil Actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajnikanth have split after nearly 18 years of marriage and two years of legal wait. A family court in Chennai has finalised their divorce request that was decided and announced back in 2022 and legally filed in court in April of this year.

Introduces Fiance Zainab Ravdjee through InstagramThe couple, both hailing from famous film families – Dhanush, the son of director Kasthuri Raja and brother of director Selvaraghavan has created a niche for himself while Aishwarya, the daughter of renowned actor Rajnikanth has also been actively directing movies in Tamil Cinema. The duo tied the knot in 2004 is now officially and legally granted divorce today, as per Sun TV and News 18 reports.
The couple after two children, Yatra and Linga has decided to separate after a rough phase before 2022 and officially announced in January, 2022 as Dhanush and Aishwarya shared their decision on X, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment, and adaptation. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate.”
The couple refused to attend several hearings but finally attended an in camera proceeding this month, with the family court Judge Subhadevi granting their divorce. Both Dhanush and Aishwarya have decided to Co- parent their sons and are living nearby in Poes Garden.
