Indian Cinema is doubling the chance in Oscars 2025 as Two South Indian Films ‘Kanguva’ and ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ are currently nominated for Best Picture Category. The news was released after the Academy Awards had released the list of eligible nominees for the category on Tuesday.
Oscars 2025 Best Picture Nomination Eligibility ListWith 207 films eligible for the Best Picture Category from across the world, there are Three Indian Film up for Best Picture Category – Tamil Movie ‘Kanguva’ helmed by director Siva, Malayalam Film ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ from director Blessy and Hindi language Film ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ from director Shuchi Talati.
The Oscars 2025 Best Pictures Nominations will be finalised based on voting process that will begin on 8 January and will be concluded by 12 January, 2025. The results of the finalised Nominations will be announced on 17th January. The Academy members will be incharge of voting for the Best Picture Nominations and the voting will be done in secrecy Online.

It is to be noted that previously Blessy’s ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ won the Best Background Score (Foreign Language) at the 2024 Hollywood Music Awards while ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ bagged two awards at the Sundance Film Festival 2024.
