Sekhar Kamulla is joining hands with a stellar and interesting cast with Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh in major roles. The movie looks like a social narrative that is structured around money.
‘Kubera’ is mentioned in Indian mythology as the God of wealth and aptly the first poster of the movie is of Dhanush standing before a mural of Lord Shiva and Goddess Lakshmi surrounded by wealth. The poster also gave away that Dhanush is a beggar and the movie revolves around a huge sum of money.
Following updates of Kubera with the rest of the cast members also had to do something with a huge batch of cash, Nagarjuna walking towards a container that is filled with cash whereas Rashmika Mandanna is carrying a bag full of money. Jim Sarbh’s character poster was revealed on his birthday with him leaning over towers of money.
The glimpse video that was released today, 15 November gives us a little more into the world of ‘Kubera’. Nagarjuna looks like a corporate employee and is seen with his family while Jim Sarbh looks dashing with a crisp suit that obviously indicates that he is a wealthy businessman. Rashmika Mandanna on the other hand looks like any other middle class woman.
Dhanush is showcased all this time as a beggar and also dotting the getup for the major part of the glimpse video, only to be seen in a silk ensemble and praying before a temple at the very last, developing hits of him actually being a wealthy man. This curveball develops curiosity and anticipation for the film, as the 52 second video did not have any dialogues for the fans to pick easter eggs and sort the plot even a bit.
