Nakkalites fame Rajeshwar Kalisamy announces himself loudly in his Tamil Cinema directorial debut ‘Kudumbasthan’. Starring actor Manikandan in the titular character, the movie intrigued many when announced and has now easily made a mark after the trailer that dropped minutes ago.

‘Kudumbasthan’ Trailer Review
As gathered from the title itself, the movie is about a normal Middle Class Man who is the breadwinner and has to hustle for the sudden shift in his life from a Bachelor to a Newly married to now a Family Man. The character played by Manikandan yet again channels the closer to reality aspects of running a family, with the exceptionally talented actor easily taking up the role of a troubled ‘Kudumbasthan’.
The trailer showcases his life from the hilarious narration that is similar to that of a recipe narration and how a happy, unmarried bachelor is the perfect fit for becoming a ‘Kudumbashtan’ literally meaning a Family Man. From being carefree and burdenless, the protagonist named Naveen finds himself in the tumultuous situation of a soon to be father with financial troubles. Although the visuals trigger anxious and bitter images that are not alienated from many of our households, the recipe – like narration – creates waves of chuckles here and there, summing the trailer to be one of the few interesting and unique ones of recent.
Director Rajeshwar Kalisamy has certainly stylised this movie from his fruitful experience from directing ‘Nakkalites’ that is a satirical and nostalgic take on real life experiences that attracted millions online, hopefully reaching even more when releasing in theatres on 24 January 2025.
