Tamil Actor and Racer Ajith Kumar who is renowned for his impressive body of work and recently for pursuing a career as a professional racer has been awarded the Padma Bhushan Award. The Padma Awards, known to honour some of the finest civilians of India for their contribution and dedication in several fields and vocations is a yearly award ceremony that honours the exceptional talents of the nation.

The Padma Awards for the year 2025 is announced with several South Indian actors receiving the honours including Tamil Actor Ajith Kumar, Malayalam Actress Shobana Chandrakumar, Telugu Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna are receiving the Padma Bhushan Award for their contribution to cinema throughout the years. With the announcement, Actor Ajith Kumar has become the fifth actor in Tamil after Shivaji Ganesan, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, Vijayakant to receive the honour, a significant feat.
