Suriya 44 gets a fitting title, screaming the vibe, theme and shade of the film, ‘Retro’ helmed by Karthik Subbaraj retaining his forte of making a gangster thriller with some of the best talents. Suriya is seen opening the teaser, making promises to Pooja Hegde’s character that are bound to be broken with sharp contrasting cuts, setting the premise clear that ‘Retro’ is going to be a bloodbath gangster film.
Suriya sports two different looks, one of a prim cut hair and unshaven broody look that is seen in the opening scene of the teaser while the otherwise Retro look with a funky hair and the now iconic mustache for the gangster side of his character. Joju George is shown to be playing Suriya’s father in the film while the rest of the characters are equally shown with a cunning smile and contorted attitude.
