‘Parasakthi’ is set in the 1960s in a college with the students gearing up to protest against a college rule. Actor Atharva dares into the field with a hockey stick and gathers students for a college students protest. Ravi Mohan in a twist of events is playing a full fledged antagonist role for the first time is seen shooting at a cutout frame of a student. The student is none other than Sivakarthikeyan who is heading the protest, a part of a revolution against the management for imposing Hindi language in Tamil Nadu.
Sudha Kongara is venturing into yet another periodic biographical movie now in the form of telling the story of the students of Annamalai University in 1965 when they did a peaceful protest against the Hindi Imposition that ended tragic with one student fatally injured and another dead by the open gunfire. This story has everything that is needed to pull the audience in for a promising entertainer with historically and contemporarily discussed topics, characters and their casting.
