Veteran actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan have always shown great interest in appreciating good filmmaking and have been keen on listening to these young directors.
While seasoned actors navigate their clear set path of joining hands with new directors, actors like Siva Karthikeyan are signed up with the likes of Murugadoss. This interesting array of combo did not go unnoticed as fans are really pumped for every update from their favourite actor’s next.

This is exactly what Lokesh Kanagaraj is curating with ‘Coolie’, a star- studded film with Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj, Kannada actor Upendra, Nagarjuna, Sruthi Hasan, Soubin Shahir.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial ‘Coolie’ is already on track with the shooting moving around cities in full swing with the release planned for 2025.
Ajith Kumar – Adhik Ravichandran (Good Bad Ugly)
Actor Ajith Kumar who is consciously swerving from the spotlight is joining hands with the young director Adhik Ravichandran for his next titled ‘Good Bad Ugly’. The posters and leaked videos from shooting spots is enough fuel for the fans to already rejoice the actor in what looks like a gangster role.

Adhik Rvaichandran’s big hit with ‘Mark Antony’ is a never seen before comedy entertainer, which also cemented a firm place for the director among the other fresh Tamil directors. ‘Good Bad Ugly’ with its cast of Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Prasanna, Sunil as of now is being shot in Hyderabad and is planned to fly to South America for the next schedule. The makers are planning to coincide the release with the 2025 Pongal holidays.
Vijay – H. Vinoth (Thalapathy 69)
Vijay’s advent into Politics may be taken as a mixed pool of reactions as fans will miss their favourite actor on screen while his political entry is happily assumed by many for years. Thus when the KVN Productions announced their collaboration with Vijay in what is said to be his last film was a sight for sore eyes. Director H. Vinoth is directing the film while Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju are rooted in for the film.
The untitled movie is said to be ‘completely in Vijay’s style’ while fans assumed it would be a political film as the first content poster was of a torch held high. The film’s poojai was held on October 4, 2024 while the shooting began.
Siva Karthikeyan – AR Murugadoss (SKxARM)
While big movie stars are flocking towards young directors, Siva Karthikeyan is joining hands with a seasoned director AR Murugadoss. The movie was announced in September, 2023 and the shooting started with the cast and crew of Siva Karthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth and many others.
The temporary working title being SK23 or SKxARM. Shooting is ongoing in Chennai and Pondicherry with Anirudh Ravichander on board as music director. The film promises action, comedy and is planned for a release in Summer of 2025.
Kamal Hassan – Anbariv (KH 237)
Kamal Hassan’s own production house, Raaj Kamal Films International is bankrolling his one among many upcoming projects directed by the popular action choreographers Anbariv. This combination has already been seen in Vikram, where the debut directors Anbariv have chalked up mass action sequences for Kamal Hassan.
The tentative title and a small teaser was released in January of 2024 with an extreme close up shot of Kamal Hassan’s lively fierce eye backed with a terrific background score. Not much news about the film is released further as Kamal Hassan was working in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Indian 2’ at the time.
Suriya – RJ Balaji (Suriya 45)
Tamil Cinema fans would have never expected this actor- director duo to work on a movie when Dream Warrior Pictures dropped the news of Suriya and RJ Balaji cooking something together for the actors 45th film. Another remarkable collaboration is Oscar Winner AR Rahman on board, a first clubbing with the director.
The content poster for Suriya 45 was released along with the announcement with the poster resonating spiritual aspects with huge scythes wrapped in red placed around a black horse. The collaboration is possibly the most interesting of the season as RJ Balaji’s earlier ventures in ‘Mookuthi Amman’ and ‘LKG’ are celebrated.
Silambarasan – Ashwath Marimuthu (AGS 27)
The latest talk of the town is AGS Productions project starring Silambarasan with the young director Ashwath Marimuthu reportedly bringing back ‘Vintage STR’ on screen. The news was announced on 21 October.
Fans were over the moon with the number of references and call backs from Silambarasan’s movies from years back brought back on screen in the first poster of the film.
