Tamil Cinema has some of the most unexpected and wished collaborations in 2025 like the dream combo of Director Vetrimaaran and Actor Suriya joining hands for the much discussed ‘Vaadivaasal’. The movie has been on and off the charts with some issues and buzz about the project being dropped circulating last year.
Produced by V Creations popular producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, ‘Vaadivaasal’ was previously announced in 2021, marking the first collaboration of the talented filmmaker and the exceptional actor. An avid reader, director Vetrimaaran chose a deep rooted sport of Jallikattu from the ‘Vaadivaasal’ novella by Writer C.S. Chellappa to be his muse and as a Co- Writer for the project.
The movie took off great with concept posters and teasers of actor Suriya training for bull taming went viral, the project slowed down and eventually potentially shelved in the following months. The news was clarified by the filmmaker himself as Vetrimaaran had both ‘Vada Chennai 2’ and ‘Vaadivaasal’ in his lineup. A much stronger confirmation came when producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu posted a picture with the actor and director in January 2025, indicating the reignition of the ambitious project.

Music Director G.V. Prakash also shared that the composition and recording for ‘Vaadivaasal’ has begun after completing his streak as an actor, producer and composer in ‘Kingston’.
‘Vaadivaasal’ Plot, Cast and Crew
The story of ‘Vaadivaasal’ is about a son and his set dream to tame a famous Jallikattu bull named Kaari which took the life of his father. Pride and passion comes into play as the lead actor Suriya will be seen in a completely new, raw light.
