2025 marks 20 years of ‘Sachein’, a Romantic Drama starring Vijay, Genelia D’Souza in the lead and helmed by John Mahendran. The feel good and jovial movie with the titular character who is charming and carefree falls in love with a girl he sees in Ooty where he joins for college. The news of this movie Re- Releasing was shared by Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu who took it to his X page with a caption, “கோடையில் கொண்டாட்டம் #SacheinRerelease”, indicating the movie is releasing in Summer 2025.

This Re- Release will be looked forward to because of how successful Vijay’s ‘Ghilli’ movie was received by fans last year. ‘Ghilli’ which was released in 2004 and got Re- Released in April 2024 similarly on its 20th Anniversary was well received, quickly becoming the highest grossing South Indian Re- Releasing movies of 2024 and the second in India. Ghilli collected 34.5 Crores with the first day collecting a whopping 10.6 Crores.

If the Re- Release pattern continues and Actor Vijay does stop acting after his upcoming project Thalapathy 69, then his fans have to resort to await for these Vintage Vijay films. It is also to note that ‘Sachein’ was Re- Released recently in France and had a warm welcome among the fans.
