Rural dramas are always a fan favourite among the ardent serial watchers and Sun TV always provides some sort of family drama. Now they are launching a new serial ‘Poongodi’ that is about a girl’s fight for her rights and education in her own family.
It is the season for new television content and prominent channels are launching new serials. Sun TV’s upcoming new serial is titled ‘Poongodi’, a rural drama based on a young girl who is aspiring to break the hurdles and restrictions inside her own home. The titular character Poongodi is a kind hearted, jovial and the busy bee of her village who is aspiring to have a life of her own as an educated and independent woman.
But Poongodi’s father is regressive and patriarchal in thinking that his legacy only lies in his sons and that his daughter shouldn’t pursue higher education as she anyway is going to be married. Although she has her mother’s support, the rest of her family is against her thoughts. But Poongodi is determined to prove to his father that she is an equal to her brothers and she can change her father’s chauvinistic ideologies.
