Now, the movie takes their audience to a roller coaster ride filled with ample questions, so as the couple who gets cornered by the animosity from all the four sides. This would make the audience to glue their seats till the end slate.
“Pothugadda” – An Overall Review and Critical Breakdown
The debut director Raksha Veeran showcases his distinction in a story with a well-written screenplay where the whole movie and the characters are going to travel in a bus. What makes the movie a “must watch one” is the cat and mouse game of two egoistic politicians Bhaskar and Samudhra who intervene in the delightful love life of Krishna and Geetha who seek for a peaceful life. Except for a few moments, the rest of the movie pinches the audience to be conscious to know what will happen to the couple or who will harm the couple. Because the viewers are introduced with the back to back hazards which surround the couple.
One of the finest parts of “Pothugadda” is the character arc which turns vice versa with the characters Venkat and Anji who represent the two different versions of humans where they both get influenced by the love & money respectively at the peak phase of the movie. And the brilliant picturisation of the political game at the ground level in which the caste, power, money and honor plays the key role to survive and surpass their opponents. The surprising change of the suspicious blind man character felt like a cherry on the cake moment. The background score of Marcus and Shravan Bharadwaj has done their job well and the cinematography has been done in a commendable way as the whole movie takes place predominantly during the night. Overall, the outcome of the movie looks remarkable due to the unified team work.
Dissecting the Plot Holes in “Pothugadda”
Some of the elements which could make the audience skip through the forward button is the love sequence which is the core element of the movie. It has been presented through a misplaced score in the beginning which dilutes the jumpy mood of the viewer who are sitting with curiosity of what would happen next. The wooden performance of a journalist character provokes to pinpoint the question about the logic. Because a journalist who is aware of the Samudhra’s decision of making his daughter as youth president (along with big banners with her photo) haven’t received any of her photos or her identity through his sources makes the viewer open their two hands aside with surprise.
Final Verdict of “Pothugadda – A Tale of Love Story”
“Pothugadda – A Tale of Love Story” is a must watch movie for this weekend and it can be enjoyed by all types of audiences. The compelling narrative, excellent storytelling of Raksha Veeran, seamless editing, well-paced character switch and technical brilliance makes this movie a cinematic delight.
